as a company you sell a product not time. if it is a service then you sell a system and someone else’s time systematically as a product. a system can be a checklist. all products are well packaged ideas. be aware to not selling your own work as a service not systematically and calling it a business this is unwisely tough.
products should be put in front of customers. customers have switching costs and considerations. product should be good eanough to switch to.
profitability is a result of the mix in the offer. in a way that it is hard to trace the value back to work done. how can one do some mixing with “work” so there is a mix, not an hour of work? – this is how companies born.
